PSU, Trang province, and the Rubber Authority of Thailand organized Rubber Expo 2023, highlighting innovative rubber technology to enhance industrial capacity
PSU, Trang province, and the Rubber Authority of
Thailand (RAOT), along with government agencies and the private sector in
Trang, organized the 1st National Rubber Fair “Rubber Expo 2023” to enhance
rubber farmers’ quality of life, strengthen and increase the competitiveness of
the rubber industry, and promote scientific literacy among rubber farmers.
Trang Province Governor Mr. Khajornsak Chareonsopha presided the event, and
Asst. Prof. Dr. Jumphon Chuenjitsiri, PSU Acting Vice President for Legal and
Academic Services, gave a welcoming speech. Mr. Nakorn Trapwiraphat, leader of
the Rubber Authority of Thailand, gave a reporting speech at the His Majesty
the King's 7th Cycle Birthday Anniversary Convention Centre, PSU Trang Campus,
on 8 April 2023.
Mr. Nakorn Trapwiraphat explained that the RAOT
organizes the annual event to commemorate the contributions of Phraya
Ratsadanupradit Mahitsaraphakdi (Khaw Sim BeeNa Ranong), who was honored as the
"Father of Thai rubber". The event also serves as a reminder of the
importance of rubber as the country's economic crop and a venue to disseminate
knowledge, technology, and innovation to increase productivity and harvest,
production technology and innovation, innovative technology and products from
research results, including networking between rubber plantation institutes,
rubber researchers, and entrepreneurs. Aiming to share practical knowledge
about the rubber production process, the event also helps meeting the standards
and complying with BCG Model guidelines, including networking between
stakeholders and the general public in Trang and nearby areas to develop the
economy, diversify opportunities and incomes in order to bring stability to the
community, raise the quality of life of rubber farmers sustainably, and foster
effective economic and social development.
Asst. Prof. Dr. Jumpol said that PSU as an educational
institution focuses on the importance of rubber research, and encourages new
generations of researchers. New innovations are created from a wide range of
existing knowledge for commercial use, including creating a network to share
knowledge and drive new entrepreneurs, and giving advice to farmer groups to
step into the world of sustainable business.
The 1st National Rubber Fair “Rubber Expo 2023”
was held from 6 to 10 April 2023, featuring activities such as a seminar about
the development of rubber products, opportunities for rubber competition to
support sustainable rubber plantation standards, promoting the management of
agricultural areas and rubber technology through practical training. The event
highlighted rubber research exhibition, rubber processing innovation, and the
distribution of processed rubber products by business units of the RAOT and the
Rubber Farmers Institute in Trang Province. A variety of interesting
competitions and contests complemented the fair.
